The Building and Environmental Administration aims to enable a good living environment for residents, visitors, and businesses in a growing Halmstad. Our administration is responsible for, among other things, map supply, building permits, land surveying proceedings, and environmental and health protection issues. Our ambitions are high. Halmstad Municipality is making significant investments in digital development, sustainability, and a smooth digital community building process. Today, this cannot happen without a competent, driven, curious, and service-oriented GIS group, and it is to this group that we hope to soon welcome you as a new GIS Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the Geodata Unit, we work with the management of geodata at various stages, from measurement assignments to system development. The GIS group is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of our geodata catalog and our web maps used internally as operational support or directed towards the public. Additionally, we work with analysis and visualization of geodata in various projects, always in close collaboration with our clients from Halmstad Municipality's various administrations and companies. The development of the web map service HAJK is also done in-house by our own GIS developer.

All members of the GIS group work both technically and in direct contact with clients, which provides a developing and varied working environment. We are a creative and friendly group of (currently) 5 GIS Engineers/coordinators/developers who value service and quality highly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

We are looking for someone who has an education of at least 180 higher education credits in a relevant field, or has a relevant vocational education combined with experience and competence in the field. You have good Swedish skills in both speech and writing.

In addition to experience in analysis, processing, and visualization of geodata, we would like you to have knowledge of databases and automation of geodata management. We work in QGIS, PostGIS, Geoserver, FME (desktop and server), and HAJK, and experience in these is particularly meritorious as it will allow you to quickly and easily integrate into our routines.

We are now looking for someone who is self-driven, curious, enjoys working in a team, is responsive to client needs, is passionate about this profession, and is eager to share that joy and knowledge with our users.
